Introducing Superba Community Spotlight where we celebrate meditators in our community who are taking inspired action and serving the need of the time.
Featuring, Jennifer Lee Weaver and Renée Santos, who share how practicing meditation has influenced their solo shows, The Great Brain Robbery (Weaver), and Crossroads (Santos). Jen is an actor/writer/producer who’s been meditating for over 6 years. Renée is a comedian/writer/actor who learned Vedic meditation about a year and a half ago.
I met with Jen and Renée at their chic Los Feliz home where I was greeted by two adorable furry friends and the mouth-watering aroma of baked lasagna, curtesy of Jen. Each artist gave me insights into the process of writing and performing their autobiographical one-woman-shows which will play at Atwater Village Theater on June 30th.
Read and listen along as we talk meditation, theater art, and the cathartic nature of sharing our stories.
JH: Jen, has your meditation practice informed how you approach your acting career?
JH: Has meditation changed the way you write, Renée?
Jen describes her show, The Great Brain Robbery.
Renée describes her solo show, Crossroads.

I asked Renée how she’d feel if a group of us meditators came to see her and Jen perform their solo shows on June 30th, and this is what she had to say-
So there you have it. Our first Superba Community Spotlight!
Thank you to Jen and Renée for not only taking the time to help us figure out what this Community offering is, but for being willing to share their gorgeous stories with us at the end of June.
It takes a tremendous amount of courage to write and perform an autobiographical solo show. We can’t wait to cheer you on and have this incredible shared experience in celebration of life.
All my love and Jai Guru Deva,
Jamey
